Hello Reader, I hope that your week is going well! Have you ever set a financial goal, only to find that you forget about it in a few weeks? Or perhaps you’ve never thought about setting financial goals and don’t know where to start? For many years, I didn't set any money goals, but now, I know it's one of the smartest things that I can do for my personal finances! I know that goal-setting can feel overwhelming, but with the right approach, it becomes an empowering and motivating process that can change your personal finances. So, how do you feel about setting goals? 🌟 Do you have any financial goals in place right now? ✨ What is one goal you’re proud of having achieved, and how did it make you feel? 💪 I’d love to hear your thoughts on this – reply to this email to share your goals with me! Financial Goals: I believe that setting financial goals gives you direction and purpose, whether you're planning for something short-term, like a holiday, or longer-term, like retirement or homeownership. Here’s a quick guide to get you started: Short-term goals: These are goals you aim to achieve within a year – for example, paying off debt or saving for a holiday. Long-term goals: These are bigger-picture goals, like securing your retirement or buying a home. The key is to set SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. For example, saving £75 each month for 5 years to build an emergency fund of £4,500 is a SMART goal that turns abstract desires into concrete plans. Take Action Today What’s one thing you’d like to accomplish in the next 12 months? It would be great if _______ (fill in the blank!). Once you’ve identified your goal, the next step is figuring out why you want to achieve it. The more personal and meaningful your reason, the more motivated you’ll be to succeed. I’ve learned over the years that managing money successfully comes down to three key things: ✔️ Always keep learning – Read, listen, and invest in yourself. But remember, knowledge is only powerful when you...
Hi Reader , This past week, our daughter won a school swimming race. No big deal, you might think—it’s not the Olympics. But for her, it was a huge moment. Gold! Just four weeks ago, she was on the hockey team. She loved hockey and had been playing for three years, showing up rain or shine—whether it was a 6am practise or a 7pm match. No matter how tough it got, she kept going, determined to improve and be a team player. But instead of lifting her up, her team tore her down. They blamed her...
Hi Reader , I just wanted to send a quick note to say—I see you. No matter where you are on your financial journey, every step forward is worth celebrating. When my husband and I first started working towards financial freedom, it often felt like a long, lonely road. But one thing I’ve learned is that even the smallest wins add up to something bigger. Maybe you paid off a little extra debt this month, had an honest money conversation with your partner, or simply felt more in control of your...
